Work tomorrow? Really?!!!

After another lovely 4 day weekend (royal weddings, walks in the sun and nights out with friends), going back into work tomorrow is not going to be fun! However, getting back into some sort of routine will not hurt my waistline...why is it that as soon as the weekend hits all good intentions go out of the window? That being said, the daily drudgery of office life often lends itself to my expanding stomach. It's either someones birthday (around comes the cake email) or the day has been so nightmarish that one person or another has decided that for the good of office morale, chocolate, biscuits, nibbles of any kind must be bought!
Despite my best intentions I find that something always gets in the way, but given that it's only a few months now until we depart, I think a refocus is in order. For this reason I will now list my reasons for wanting to adopt a much healthier approach:
  • South East Asia is HOT!!! My poor English skin is not well equipped to cope with the sun, but what will make the heat even more unbearable will be carrying around the equivalent of a toddler in extra weight! It's got to go!!!
  • Wedding skin - I am to be a bridesmaid in the summer. I have unfortnately failed in my task to be a Size 8 by now, therefore I've decided I can redeem myself by having gorgeous, flawless skin on the day. This will not happen if I continue to consume sugar in all its forms at every meal time!
  • For the good of my health - this may seem obvious to some but for a long time my reasons for wanting to be slimmer have been purely for vanity. However, back in march my extremely fit and healthy dad had a small, very minor heart attack. Whilst he's more then on the mend (back out mountain biking a stupid number of miles each week - pensioners eh?!), it's made me realise that if it can happen to him, I'm certainly a more than likely candidate in the future. I need to start living a healthier lifestyle. I know that being fit played a big part in dad's recovery and his ability to have this thing happen to him yet come out of it completely unscathed.
  • I owe it to myself.
So, until next time!
